PRESS RELEASE – Funding of £500 available for local groups to facilitate health and social care conversations

Conversations around health and social care can be discussed in a range of innovative ways, and that’s why Healthwatch Doncaster has launched its micro-grant scheme for local groups to apply for £500 to help engage, inform and influence

Launch of the micro-grant scheme

Healthwatch Doncaster is excited about working in partnership with not for profit, third sector, or local community groups to support them in facilitating conversations around people’s health and social care.

There is no barrier in place for creative conversations so any idea – for example, the use of technology or designing and delivery of interactive events/workshops – is welcome.

Healthwatch Doncaster Chief Operating Officer Andrew Goodall said:

“Healthwatch Doncaster wants to continue to foster long-term working relationships with local groups, and as part of the micro-grants scheme, we will provide them with monetary and on-going support to have conversations around health and social care.

“With the use of Healthwatch Doncaster’s Feedback Centre that has become a hub of information for local people to access, we aim to receive stories on local people’s experiences on using services through a variety of additional capturing methods.”

There are a number of eligibility criteria to fulfil for groups and to complete an application form detailing their plans.

“I’m excited to hear and discuss ideas that groups have cultivated and it’s a great opportunity for working together to engage and inform the public, and use their comments to influence change for health and social care services,” said Andrew.
