PRESS RELEASE: Local Healthwatch launches daily music playlist to help combat isolation

“Music gives a soul to the universe” said Plato, and it’s with this spirit that during the nationwide restrictions due to the coronavirus, Healthwatch Doncaster is inviting local people to share their song of choice for a daily playlist

Working remotely, the Healthwatch Doncaster team have been sharing songs to listen to during work and there has been an excellent response of songs submitted, ranging from Rick Astley to Kenny Rogers to Pharrell Williams.

Healthwatch Doncaster Chief Operating Officer Andrew Goodall said: “We wanted to help people have a soundtrack as they went about their daily tasks at home, whether working, home schooling or completing their one period of exercise per day. Please do send us your choices and help keep others entertained."

It has been great to read people’s varied entries and we hope that a song may resonate with an individual at this testing time

During these unprecedented times, Healthwatch Doncaster is contacting its volunteers, partners and groups to check-in about their welfare making sure they are signposted to services who can help provide support, and listening to their stories about accessing health and care services plus inspiring stories of people going the extra mile to help.

“We’re listening to what local people are sharing about their experiences during the coronavirus situation, and making sure they are signposted to services that may be able to help with day-to-day tasks,” said Andrew.

Healthwatch Doncaster’s website has a dedicated page for the playlist so you can browse what people have offered up for our daily playlist. That can be viewed at
