Enter and View Policy

This document sets out the approach of Healthwatch Doncaster to Enter and View. The policy is a ‘live’ document which is reviewed regularly to ensure it stays up-to-date.

What is an Enter and View?

  • An Enter and View visit is where a team of trained individuals, known as Enter and View Authorised Representatives (hereafter referred to as ‘authorised representatives’), access a service, make observations, collect views and produce a report.
  • Service refers to a place delivering publicly funded health or social care services, specifically those outlined in Section 2 – Where Enter and View Applies.
  • By law a service provider has a duty to allow authorised representatives to Enter and View. However, certain exclusions apply.
