The Road To Happiness, a poem by Glyn Butcher

A poem shared by Glyn Butcher, from The Peer Focussed Group in Intake, Doncaster

I remember when I first came to PFG,

I was wondering what they would make out of me.

I though I would be left out in cold as before, but people at PFG Positively  Opened the Door.

I was Made to feel Welcome, Feel Wanted and at Home.

This was far away from how I used to feel  Unwanted, Unloved and Alone.

I Experience Peer Support for the First Time,

I knew instantly this was a Behaviour I wanted to Mime.

I love how they treated each other with Respect and with Trust, wanting the best for each other nothing fake or unjust.

I now feel Safe, Satisfied and Secure all the Things I have Longed for for so many years before.

Now I and happy with a Smile on my Face, because now I feel like a Person and Part of the Human Race.

I want to thank  everyone from PFG From the bottom of my heart for my recovery in which you all played a part
